Infosecurity Today is quoting SANS as saying that "Infosecurity professionals will see improved job opportunities in 2008" (...) "as senior executives in government realise that their systems have already been compromised, and that they do not control those systems, they will react by creating new jobs."
That is an interesting perspective. Not to say I weren't in favour of increasing security staff where it counts, but experience teaches that not only will event driven measures easily result in stop gap measures with limited long term value but neither does security necessarily correlate with the number of staff involved.
